WELCOME TO POMONA CATHOLIC ATHLETICS and the home of Pacer Athletics

The end of another school year has come, and with it, a successful year of Pacer Athletics. This has been a year of not only outstanding team accomplishments, but also many amazing individual achievements.

The Fall season got PC athletics off to a great start. We saw the volleyball team win a league championship, while also playing into the 2nd round of the CIF playoffs. The Pacer volleyball team also featured a number of players going on to play at the next level as well. The Cross Country team finished in 2nd place, narrowly missing out on back to back league titles. Tennis had some big wins while finishing with their best record in recent years and just barely missing the playoffs.

Winter sports continued to show strong for Pomona Catholic athletics. The soccer team had an amazing season! They not only won a league championship, but also made a deep run in CIF by making it all the way to the quarterfinals! PC basketball fielded many young girls this year. That being said, the players worked extremely hard every game and gained valuable experience for the upcoming seasons.

The Spring, and final sports season of the school year, finished strong. The track team barely lost out on a league championship, finishing in 2nd. They were able to send a number of athletes to not only CIF Prelims, but also the Finals. Beach volleyball was able to battle tough every match and missed making the playoffs by one place in the standings. PC athletics was able to field softball for the first time in a number of years. While fielding many athletes with no experience, they were still able to make the CIF playoffs.

While the PC athletic teams had a successful year, there were some individual accomplishments that are noteworthy. In volleyball, Alexa Pomeroy was named the League MVP. The soccer team had 2 individuals win league awards. Brooklyn Naomi Rodriguez, was named the league MVP, while Brooklyn Denise Rodriguez, was named league MVP Goalie.

The track team also won 2 events at the league finals. Brooklyn Naomi Rodriguez won the 800m, and the PC 4x100m relay team, which consisted of the following members (Brooklyn Naomi Rodriguez, Carlotta Trejo, Gianna Jones, and Lila Lopez) took 1st place as well.

I would like to congratulate every team, and all student athletes for their accomplishments and success this year. It is because of their hard work and dedication, that Pacer athletics is continuing to make major strides and show well in sports. To those who are graduating, thank you for your years of service to Pomona Catholic athletics. For those student athletes who will be returning, the hard work is starting all over again in preparation for the next school year.

Thank you and God Bless,

ATHLETIC HIGHLIGHT

Scholar-athletes have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports throughout the year. We offer a range of sports, fielding varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen teams. Our teams focus on building self-confidence, teamwork dedication, and determination.

The athletic program offers all students an opportunity to explore, develop and fine-tune their skills while gaining valuable playing time. Good sportsmanship is instilled in each of our students through the integration of the gospels values during training, practice, and gameplay. Partnerships with local organizations provide facilities for our students to practice and play. Our boosters program offers an avenue for parents to be directly involved in the success of their scholar-athlete.

Pomona Catholic's athletic teams have earned both state and national recognition including a strong tradition of championship titles. Our Scholar-Athletes empowered by their experiences at Pomona Catholic have gone on to compete at the collegiate level. Many are recruited with athletic scholarships from colleges and universities across the country.
